Scholarships
The Georgia Construction Aggregate Association established the GCAA Foundation, Inc. in the spring of 2008 as a means to provide children of industry professionals with scholarship awards entering their freshmen year of college. The Foundation is an entirely separate entity from the Association and is set up as a tax exempt 501(c)(3) in which all donations made to the Foundation are tax deductible. Scholarships are primarily funded through donations and money raised at the annual GCAA Fall Golf Outing. The Foundation is run by its Board of Directors.
It is based on acknowledging the achievement of our company employees’ family members and maximizing community relations, ultimately enhancing the image of our industry.
Eligibility requirements for scholarship applicants is simple.
- The scholarship is available exclusively to applicants whose parent or guardian has been employed by a GCAA member company with one year of continuous service. In addition to students entering their first year, any currently enrolled college student who has not previously been awarded a GCAA scholarship is eligible.
- The scholarship is a one-time award from $250 to $1000 payable directly to the school of choice as directed by the applicant upon proof of enrollment. Schools must be accredited by a nationally recognized accreditation organization. Students applying to technical colleges are eligible as well. An emphasis will be placed on students that are pursuing engineering or science degrees.
