Scholarships
The Georgia Construction Aggregate Association established the GCAA Foundation, Inc. in the spring of 2008 as a means to provide children of industry professionals with scholarship awards entering their freshmen year of college. The Foundation is an entirely separate entity from the Association and is set up as a tax exempt 501(c)(3) in which all donations made to the Foundation are tax deductible. Scholarships are primarily funded through donations and money raised at the annual GCAA Fall Golf Outing. The Foundation is run by its Board of Directors.
The program is intended for students entering their first year of a two or four year college program. Students currently pursuing an advanced degree that have not received a GCAA Scholarship award are also eligible. Schools must be accredited by nationally recognized accreditation organization. It is based on acknowledging the achievement of our company employees’ family members and maximizing community relations, ultimately enhancing the image of our industry.
Eligibility requirements for scholarship applicants is simple.
- The scholarships are limited to dependents of employees working for a GCAA member companies. The employee must have a minimum of one year continuous service with the company.
- Scholarships are a one-time award from $250 to $1,000 and paid directly to the school upon proof of enrollment. If awardees drop from school, the school will be asked to return the funds to the GCAA Foundation
