Scholarships
The Georgia Construction Aggregate Association established the GCAA Foundation, Inc. in the spring of 2008 as a means to provide children of industry professionals with scholarship awards entering their freshmen year of college. The Foundation is an entirely separate entity from the Association and is set up as a tax exempt 501(c)(3) in which all donations made to the Foundation are tax deductible. Scholarships are primarily funded through donations and money raised at the annual GCAA Fall Golf Outing. The Foundation is run by its Board of Directors.
Eligibility requirements for scholarship applicants is simple. The applicant must be the dependent of an employee of a GCAA member company. The employee must have one year of continuous service with his or her member company.
Applicants may use their award at any four year or two year college as well as in conjunction with a co-op as well. The Board of Directors also serves as the selection committee for the purpose of choosing award winners.
