Legislative Consultant

Terry Matthews serves as legislative consultant to the Georgia Construction Aggregate Association. Terry represents the legislative and regulatory interests of GCAA before local, state and federal officials and agencies. Terry is an effective advocate for the construction aggregate industry in Georgia, helping GCAA navigate the annual budget process at the state level and agency regulatory activities at the state and federal levels by transportation and environmental regulatory agencies. Terry has been named to the Georgia Lobbyist Hall of Fame by James Magazine and is widely respected among his colleagues in the public affairs industry. Terry began his public affairs career as an assistant to the Secretary of the Georgia State Senate and later worked as a senior advisor to U.S. Senator Sam Nunn. Terry is a graduate of the University of Georgia and serves as a member of the University’s School of Public and International Affairs Board of Visitors. Terry and his wife Margaret live in Atlanta.
